WHAT IS DIVINE LOVE?

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13 ESV

What does it mean to give your heart to someone? Is it a precondition that we except something in return. Does it mean it allows us the submission of others to our subjective demands. Does it mean that your love demands a response from someone else.

Isn’t this the preconditions we set within our objective reasoning which allows us the avenue to walk away when we find that the person you had expected everything in return does not meet your standard. Why is it so easy to fall out of love with someone else? Why is it so easy for many to walk away when someone does not meet our expectations.

Unfortunately, that is the objective standards we as humans adhere to and use as an excuse when things don’t meet our expectations. We act based on our preconditions or we seek reasons to stop loving. The whole concept that underwrites our logic is natural through the lens our mortal existence, which ironically is far from the conditions that God himself sets for himself.

God does not judge us until we stand before Him and until that time he waits patiently for us to see the Truth that he has revealed. The Truth which we choose not to see. We have been preconditioned to view the world as nothing more than a playground that stimulates your desires and which you strive to accomplish. There is no boundary we are not willing to cross to satisfy our ‘right’ to exploit or relish. In fact I’ve even heard people say it’s their ‘God’ given right. Interestingly the statement is actually true.

God has given us the right to choose and whatever stimulates our senses we pursue without any accountability. We journey from one desire to the next without knowing anything but the sense of stimulating our own need to be satisfied.

God has created us with our right to choose and as much as God provided all His promises He does not command us to love Him nor force us to choose Him. God’s love is the absolute standard through which we must seek ourselves. Unless we set aside our own mortal reasoning and look through God own lens, which he provided in Jesus Christ as the example for us, we will never see the true nature of what divine love truly means.

Why did Jesus, God divine have to become mortal? Because it was the only way God could redeem humanity. Humanity has sinned and broken our covenant with God and only as man can that debt be paid. Jesus Himself as man paid that debt for us. As Christians we are poured by His grace that has redeemed us from sin. It was not only sin that was redeemed but Jesus showed the path to walk on. To set aside our mortal ways and seek to know God through His example. Jesus came to reveal the Truth. The truth that is divine and pure and not by mortal choices and reasoning.
Unless we set aside our reasoning and look through the lens of Jesus, can we begin to not only see, but feel, know and rejoice in the freedom of God’s absolutes.

31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” JOHN 8: 31-32

His standards that are absolute and unwavering and universal, through which we can find peace, love and comfort.

“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” GALATIANS 6:7-8
